There are a wide
variety of trips, excursions, sights and sounds
to be experienced in Inverness and the surrounding

Loch Ness
The world famous Loch Ness Monster, also known
as "Nessie" has made Loch Ness a
top tourist attraction. The Loch itself is
the largest body of freshwater in Britain;
it is 754ft deep, 24 miles long and on average,
around 1 mile wide. Cruises, day trips and
tours are available to experience the beauty
of the Loch, during which you might catch
a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster!

Culloden Moor Visitors Centre
A National Trust exhibition with weapons and
artefacts from the Battle of Culloden - the
last major battle fought in mainland Britain.
There is also an opportunity to walk the battlefield
which features memorials and clan graves from
this historical Jacobite event which occurred
back in 1746.

Urquhart Castle
This magnificent castle overlooks the beautiful
waters of Loch Ness and was built in the 1230's,
making it a fascinating historical attraction.
Although the castle is essentially a ruin,
having been left to decay after 1689 it presents
great views of the Loch and surrounding landscape.
A visitors centre has been created to exhibit
artefacts found at the castle, which saw considerable
conflict and bloody events from the 13th to
17th centuries.

Landmark Forest Theme Park
A great place to take children, Landmark is
a fun-packed day out. Attractions include
the Wild Water Coaster, Tree Top Trail and
Ant City Playground. Set in an area of ancient
woodlands, this park combines nature with
plenty of fun.
